STEM/STEAM

HF Boys Building LegosInnovation can help our region STEAM ahead.

Advancing Innovative ideas has always been a cornerstone of America’s prosperity. Through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Mathematics) learning opportunities, many youth discover careers they may have not thought about can be creative and fun paths leading to meaningful and profitable employment

In addition to STEAM-related knowledge, skills and ideas, 21st century employers repeatedly voice the need for highly qualified and skilled workers with solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills along with the ability to work well with others. These are all areas focused on in Heartland Foundation’s emPowerU programs including those featuring Lego® Robotics, Bio Bus Physics and Kitchen Chemistry, movie-making, fun science experiments, design forums, and more.
