The Great
Northwest Day at the Capitol is a regional effort to influence
legislation that will benefit all of northwest Missouri and the State
as a whole. A delegation of nearly 275 individuals from communities
throughout the region trek to Jefferson City to meet with our legislators
about collective issues and concerns affecting our region. Prior
to the Great Northwest Day, a Regional Issues Forum is held to determine
those key issues. The 2007 legislative agenda included:
- Economic Development
- Water/Wastewater
- Higher Education
- Prevailing Wage
The 2008 event will take place on Feburary 5 th and 6 th.
